Muetec presents FlowSwitch FS 510 material flow monitor and LevelCheck LC 510 microwave barrier for explosion-proof areas
For the first time, Muetec Instruments GmbH offers its proven FlowSwitch FS 510 material flow monitor in an ATEX- / Ex-certified version for dust explosion protection. The compact and robust microwave sensor works according to the physical principle of the Doppler effect. It operates without contact, is completely maintenance-free, can easily be retrofitted, and can measure through plastic, glass and all non-conductive materials.
Typical applications in explosion protection up to zone 20 are flow measurements in dusty pipelines, on conveyor belts, chutes or drop plates. With the device, flow disturbances, blockages or material absence can be detected and remedied at an early stage. This increases process reliability and reduces the risk of plant damage or failure.
The FlowSwitch FS 510 can recognize flow disturbances in transport of solids, granulates and powder and is now available for ATEX zone 20/21.

With the new ATEX version for Zone 20/21, where explosive atmospheres are constantly or frequently present, the range of applications is significantly extended.” Eike Fruehbrodt adds: ” The use of two FlowSwitch FS 510 in one microwave barrier, known at Mütec as LevelCheck LC 510, is also possible from now on in explosive environments. This expands the application range of the LevelCheck LC 510“. With the FS 510 and the LC 510, all Muetec measuring systems for bulk solids are now available in an explosion-proof version.
